First and foremost, turn your screensaver off. Burn the CD using a slower speed whenever possible. If your burner is fast, but your computer is slower, then you may end up with a buffer underrun issue if you are using a setting that is too fast for your computer’s capabilities. Try burning at a 2x speed or a 1x speed rather than a 4x or 8x speed and you should have better luck with your CDs.

Copy the CD to your hard drive first before you copy the information to a new CD. This may take some extra time but it is significantly more reliable.

Another factor that you should consider is color, because laser printers are simply capable of producing a higher quality image when it comes to color images and images. This makes laser printers ideal whenever your print job involves mass mail outs or sales brochures for customers. How to activate Content Advisor?

To activate this useful tool, you have to go to the Tools menu and click on Internet Options. You will see a tab named “Content”, just click on it and click on the Enable button. A box will pop up to enable you to customize your choice. Click on the General tab will help you set the password for the settings. This password will prevent unwanted modification from other people, such as your children ( If the child cannot access a page he wants, he may attempt to modify the Content Advisor settings first so setting a password will prevent him from doing so).

You will need to provide a Hint to the password, remember to provide a question that your child does not know the answer.

What if you want to limit access to  certain websites? No problem. You can do so by visiting the Content tab again. There will be a Settings button there. You will be able to specify which sites to approve and which sites to ban by entering the site name into the appropriate box. The Always button means that the site you specify will be accessible while the Never button means that the site will never be loaded.

If for some reason you need to turn off Content Advisor, you can do so by cl;icking the Disable button on the Content tab under Internet Options.  With this little useful tool in hand, you can rest assured that your children will see what they are allowed to see.

NBC however, raised a stink and made Youtube remove all of their videos so they can move them to a site they could control, sell advertising on, and control the content themselves. The truth of the matter was that it was a money thing. By keeping everything on their site they can sell advertising to it. This is where Hulu comes into play. This is a site that has all the NBC and NBC affiliates programming on. If you watch any of the shows on there you will see a 30 second spot every 5 or 6 minutes. These companies pay big money on advertising but until the viewers get more consistent they won’t pay NBC enough to make it worth while to keep the site. That all changed the moment the Internet became a big source of people’s entertainment. By 2002, Internet Explorer had gained most of the market, being used by more than 90 percent of Internet users. Since that time, it has fallen in popularity as new browsers with innovative new features have been introduced Today, with about 60 percent of the market, Internet Explorer has strong competition from Safari, released in 2003, Firefox, released in 2004 and Google Chrome, released in 2008.

As soon as a new and dramatic Web browser is unveiled, it can be knocked off its pedestal by one that is even newer and better. When the market place is free to allow for competition, it pushes the existing companies to come up with new and better products, to update old products and for new companies to come on the scene to fill a neglected need. And in one instance, that faith was shaken by a Web browser that some believed had an unfair, uncapitalistic advantage over the others.

Trying desperately to continue dominating many aspects of the Internet and INternet browsing, Microsoft came up with a plan for making their Web browser, Internet Explorer, as popular as its operating system, Microsoft Windows. With Windows already on the vast majority of computers all over the world, the plan was to bundle that operating system with that Web browser. The result was, as it was hoped, a meteoric rise in the popularity of IE. The Web browser went from merely a relatively popular and well-known Web browser to the dominating force among all browsers in just a short time.

The U.S. government sat up and took notice, believing the bundling move to violate the anti-trust laws that keep any U.S. company from operating a monopoly over any industry. The United States Department of Justice as well as 20 states brought suit against Microsoft for the bundling move. At the heart of the case was the reasoning behind the bundling- if it was done simply to gain an edge on the competition, it could be seen as anti-competitive and therefore against the law. The ruling was against Microsoft, and though there was an appeal, the judgement was not completely overturned and the company was forced to allow competition to have the same edge as Microsoft.

The first internet browser was released in 1993 by Tim Berners-Lee, and was called WorldWideWeb. By the way, this is also the same guy who created the first web page. Not to be confused with the World Wide Web, it later changed its name to Nexus. Prior to the WorldWideWeb browser, there was no way to view the Web.

Working on a NeXT computer at CERN during the end of 1990, Tim Berners-Lee created the first internet browser called WorldWideWeb. The first program was completed after only 2 months of development. Several updates were made prior to its release to the public in the summer of 1991. The project team, Tim Berners-Lee, Robert Cailliau, Bernard Pollermann, Nicola Pellow, and Jean-Francios Groff, created passive browsers that did not posses editing prospects because it was too difficult to port. Nobody on the team had experience with Windows X, so it was not possible to use the browser with that operating system.

Later, some of the team members changed most of the programming for WorldWideWeb to the C programming language and created the libwww application programming interface (API). Shortly after, new browsers started to appear, such as ViolaWWW, which was used on UNIX and the X Windowing System. This was the first well known web browser prior to Mosaic, although the computer audience was limited at this point in time. Mosaic became the most popular browser in 1993 replacing the WorldWideWeb. This was the browser that opened the door for common people to access the Web because it was easy to understand, reliable, simple to install, and was the first browser to be able to display images inline with text instead of in a separate window.

Some of the original code for the WorldWideWeb browser is on Mr. Berners-Lee’s computer in a museum at CERN. It is said that the code can not be recovered because of the computer’s historical artifact status. In the spring of 1993, CERN released the source code for WorldWideWeb and made it free software. There are several versions of this software still available for download, free of charge.

Among Mac users, there are as many Web browser preferences as there are types of Macs. There are many Web browsers that will run on a Mac, though they may have a slightly different functionality than they would on a PC. Safari is a Web browser that was specifically made for use on Macs. The browser is the default browser of Mac computers, and it is preferred by many Mac users who like the customizability and ease of use of Safari.

The browser has gone through several versions since being introduced in 2003. Safari 5 was released by Apple in June of 2010. This latest version of Safari was created with a reader integrated into it for reading Web articles by themselves without any of the distractions that can often get in the way of taking in information. Mac users who find that Safari isn’t compatible with the sites they want or need to use can use a host of other browsers on their Mac, including Explorer and widespread favorite Firefox.
