Technology is progressing very fast and every minute new gadgets are introduced and mass marketed. Once personal computers were owned by only few individuals and now it has become a common accessory for everyone. Every month, new advancements in the hardware and software part of the PC are introduced such as more storage space or any new device that can be connected with the computer. Some gadgets introduced are not easily accessible to a large population because of its price or sometimes even limited supply.

Gordon Moore of Intel Corporation predicted these advancements very early in the 1960s. His predictions, called Moore’s Law, have now come true. According to the Moore’s prediction, software and hardware are interconnected in terms of the working of the computer. Moore insisted that as the chip size decreases, the computational capacity would increase, which has now become a reality. For example, once bingo sites would take a lot of time to load, now any website can be viewed within few seconds.

Moore predicted that the number of transistors on a chip is related to the computational power of the computer. Today, the laptop has the same specification and configuration as that of the desktop computer, but the size is very small, thus it proves that the Moore’s Law is true. Today, each chip is added with more powers, instead of one or two functions, and this allows the size of the chips to be reduced.

The great advancement in computing technology is the great storage space and the increased ability to do certain task. More and more people wants extra storage space for their personal use and due to high competition, many computer companies find new methods and technology in their product to attract more customers. The need for more efficient and speedier computer is growing every day and thus the progress in computing technology is also improving to meet the demand.
